Golden pan-seared crab cakes made with lump crabmeat and minimal filler are a high protein seafood delicacy. These fresh, flavorful cakes are perfect for family dinners or elegant entertaining.
Gently pick through the lump crabmeat to remove any shell fragments, taking care to keep large chunks intact.
In a mixing bowl, combine Crabmeat, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, green onions, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Use a spatula to fold ingredients together gently without breaking up the crab.
Form the mixture into 8 cakes, pressing lightly to hold shape but avoid compacting. Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to help them set.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high until shimmering. Place the chilled crab cakes in the pan, leaving space between each. Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, until both sides are golden and crisp.
Transfer crab cakes to a paper towel-lined plate to cool slightly. Serve warm with lemon wedges or your favorite seafood sauce.
