A choy (lettuce variety) is quickly stir-fried with garlic for a crisp, fresh green side. This vegetarian, healthy dish is ultra low calorie and supports weight loss or a 1200 calorie plan.
Wash the a choy thoroughly and pat dry; cut into bite-sized pieces.
Peel and finely slice the garlic cloves.
Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and swirl to coat.
Add garlic to the hot oil and stir-fry for 20–30 seconds until fragrant, but not browned.
Add a choy and stir-fry rapidly, tossing to ensure even cooking, for 2–3 minutes. Sprinkle salt and white pepper, continue stir-frying until the leaves are just wilted and crisp-tender. Serve immediately.
