Warm, fragrant, and indulgent, Suji Halwa Breakfast is a classic Indian halwa that melts in your mouth. This cherished family dessert is prepared during festivals, religious occasions, and winter celebrations.
Heat a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat, add butter, and let it melt fully but do not brown.
Add the semolina to the melted butter and roast on medium-low heat, stirring continuously for 6–8 minutes, until the suji turns golden and emits a nutty aroma without burning.
While roasting, combine milk, water, and sugar in a separate saucepan and heat gently until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
Carefully pour the hot milk mixture into the roasted semolina while stirring constantly to prevent lumps; reduce the heat to low immediately after pouring.
Add cardamom powder, chopped cashews, and raisins. Stir gently, cover the pan, and cook on low for 3–4 minutes until all liquid is absorbed and the halwa becomes soft and pulls together from the pan. Serve hot.
