Churma Baati is a traditional Indian bread with authentic flavors and a satisfying texture. This versatile accompaniment is a family meal essential that pairs perfectly with curries and chutneys.
Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, semolina, baking powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
Pour in melted ghee and milk, then knead into a firm, smooth dough. Let rest for 15 minutes, covered.
Shape dough into lemon-sized balls, flatten slightly, and arrange on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway for even browning.
Once baked, cool baati for a few minutes, then crush into coarse pieces. Mix with sugar and cardamom powder, drizzle extra ghee, and serve warm.
