Unique yuenyeung blends Hong Kong milk tea with coffee for a bold, dual-flavored drink. A family favorite with fresh, energizing appeal.
Bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil over medium-high heat and add 2 tbsp strong black tea leaves; simmer for 3–4 minutes to extract full flavor.
Strain the tea leaves and pour the freshly brewed tea into a heatproof vessel.
Brew 1.5 cups of strong coffee (French press or drip; aim for boldness) while the tea is steeping—timing the brews to finish together preserves heat.
In a large mixing jug, combine the hot black tea and hot coffee. Add 0.5 cup evaporated milk and 2 tbsp sugar, stirring thoroughly until dissolved and the mixture is creamy.
Pour into serving glasses over ice for classic Hong Kong style, or serve hot. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed just before serving.
