Rich hasma sweet soup is a traditional Chinese wellness dessert with collagen-boosting properties. A family recipe with sweet, nourishing ingredients.
Soak the dried hasma in cold water for 8 hours or overnight to fully rehydrate, then rinse thoroughly and remove impurities.
Soak the lotus seeds in warm water for 2 hours, discard any green centers, and set aside.
In a small pot, add hasma, lotus seeds, red dates, and dried longan with 4 cups water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer gently for 60–80 minutes until the hasma becomes gelatinous and the lotus seeds turn tender.
Add rock sugar and stir well. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, adjusting sweetness to taste. Serve soup warm or chilled.
