Chicken Parmesan casserole deconstructs the Italian-American classic into a layered bake with breaded chicken, marinara, and mozzarella. This high protein, family-friendly dish is easier than traditional chicken parm and just as delicious.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish with 1 tbsp olive oil.
Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Season with half of the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Spread chicken pieces evenly into the prepared dish. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken, making sure to coat all pieces.
Mix bread crumbs with 1 tbsp olive oil, remaining Italian seasoning, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle mixture over the sauced chicken.
Top evenly with mozzarella cheese and the rest of the Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
