Thick crust, pools of cheese, every meat topping available. Deep dish meat lovers pizza is the high calorie dinner for nights when restraint isn't on the menu.
In a large bowl, mix warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy, ensuring yeast activation.
Add flour, cornmeal, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Knead for 8–10 minutes until the dough is elastic, then cover and allow it to rise for 1 hour in a warm area.
Grease a 14-inch deep dish pizza pan with olive oil. Press the risen dough evenly into the pan and about 2 inches up the sides. Let rest, covered, for another 15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). For the sauce, combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Layer half the mozzarella cheese on the dough base to seal and prevent sogginess. Evenly scatter pepperoni, sausage, bacon, ham, and ground beef across the cheese. Top with the rest of the cheese.
Spread prepared tomato sauce on top of the cheese and meats using a spatula, then sprinkle grated parmesan cheese evenly.
Bake on the lower rack for 35–40 minutes, checking after 30 minutes for a deep golden crust. Rotate the pan after 20 minutes for even browning. If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil.
Let the pizza cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to set and slices to hold together. Serve hot.
