Sweet teriyaki glaze on perfectly baked salmon over rice is one of those meals everyone agrees on. Simple, high protein, and always a crowd-pleaser.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
In a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and cornstarch mixed with water. Simmer over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Arrange salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each fillet liberally with half of the teriyaki sauce, reserving the remainder for serving.
Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, depending on thickness, until just cooked through. For slightly caramelized glaze, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end—watch closely to prevent burning.
While salmon is cooking, prepare steamed white rice and slice green onions thinly.
To serve, portion rice into bowls, top with baked teriyaki salmon, drizzle with reserved sauce, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
