Halibut is the highest-protein white fish and one of the most recommended proteins for Wegovy and tirzepatide users — a 4oz fillet provides 30g of complete protein with only 2g of fat and exceptional magnesium levels. Magnesium is particularly important for GLP-1 medication users because semaglutide can accelerate magnesium depletion through its diuretic-like effects on the kidneys. Garlic and lemon provide natural antimicrobial and vitamin C support. Baking in parchment requires no added fat. Avoid pan-frying halibut in butter or serving it with cream sauces — high saturated fat intake on GLP-1 significantly worsens gastrointestinal side effects and slows gastric emptying, amplifying nausea.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place a sheet of parchment paper on a baking tray.
Pat halibut fillet completely dry with paper towels.
Place fillet on parchment and rub with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Arrange lemon slices on top of the fish and tuck thyme sprigs alongside.
Fold the parchment over the fish to create a loose sealed parcel.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
Open the parcel carefully and top with fresh parsley.
Serve immediately.
