A lean turkey burger with a side salad after training keeps things light while still getting protein in. No regrets, no food coma, just clean recovery.
Combine lean ground turkey, 0.25 tsp salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and oregano in a bowl, mixing until just combined. Do not overwork to keep patties juicy.
Form the turkey mixture into 2 even patties. Preheat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat for 3 minutes.
Brush the pan with 0.5 tbsp olive oil. Add patties and cook 4–5 minutes per side until golden and the center reaches 165°F; reduce heat to medium if patties brown too quickly.
While burgers cook, toss mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion with remaining olive oil, lemon juice, 0.25 tsp salt, and black pepper.
Lightly toast buns if desired. Layer one turkey patty per bun, top with a little salad mix for extra crunch, and serve burgers with the remaining salad on the side.
