Round, sweet, and utterly irresistible, Coconut Ladoo is a traditional Indian confection cherished for generations. This festive treat is a must-have at family celebrations, Diwali, and special occasions.
Heat a nonstick pan on medium-low and add ghee, ensuring it coats the base evenly.
Add desiccated coconut and toast for about 2 minutes, stirring continuously to enhance aroma but avoid browning.
Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and cardamom powder. Mix thoroughly, maintaining medium heat.
Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens and begins to leave the sides of the pan (approximately 6–8 minutes).
Remove from heat, let cool for 5 minutes, then grease your hands with a little ghee and shape into small balls (ladoo).
Roll each ladoo in extra coconut or garnish with chopped pistachios, pressing slightly so they stick. Let them set at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving.
