The night before your Ozempic or tirzepatide injection, your stomach needs the lightest possible meal — and this silky steamed egg custard is the gold standard pre-injection food. Its ultra-soft texture requires almost no digestive effort, making it perfect the evening before your shot. GLP-1 medications slow gastric emptying, so eating heavy foods before your injection means they are still sitting in your stomach when the medication hits — causing severe nausea. Avoid scrambled eggs with butter and cheese, egg casseroles, and heavy breakfast items on pre-injection day. This gentle custard is your pre-shot ritual.
Gently whisk eggs without creating foam.
Combine broth, soy sauce, mirin, and salt with eggs and whisk until smooth.
Strain egg mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove all bubbles.
Pour into 2 small heatproof cups.
Add sliced shiitake and carrot into each cup.
Cover each cup tightly with foil.
Steam over gently simmering water on low-medium heat 12–15 minutes until just set — custard should wobble slightly.
Remove carefully.
Garnish with green onion.
Serve warm.
