Mawa Burfi is a smooth, fudge-like Indian sweet made with condensed milk and premium ingredients. This elegant confection is a treasured gift during Diwali and a centerpiece of family sweet boxes.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low and melt the ghee, swirling to coat the base evenly.
Crumble mawa into the skillet and sauté gently for 5–8 minutes until it softens and turns golden, stirring continuously to prevent sticking.
Reduce heat to low. Add condensed milk and mix thoroughly, cooking for 7–10 minutes, stirring and scraping the sides so there are no lumps.
Sprinkle cardamom powder and finely chopped nuts. Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan, about 5 more minutes.
Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined tray. Smooth evenly. Cool completely; then cut into squares and garnish with sliced pistachios and almonds.
