Wash the pumpkin thoroughly, remove the seeds, and cut it into suitable pieces.
Place the pumpkin in a steamer and steam for about 20 minutes until cooked.
Peel the cooked pumpkin and mash the flesh until smooth.
Add the mashed pumpkin and water to a pot, stirring as you bring it to a boil.
Mix water with rice flour (or glutinous rice flour), then slowly add to the pot.
Simmer over low heat, stirring until it thickens.
Season with salt and sugar to taste.
