Grilled sea eel - perfect as a nourishing meal at home when you need a boost of energy!
Pat the prepared sea eel thoroughly with a kitchen towel to remove slime and moisture, helping eliminate any fishy smell.
Lightly coat a preheated pan with cooking oil over medium heat, then place the eel skin-side down to prevent shrinking. Grill for 2 minutes.
Flip the eel and reduce to low heat when grilling the flesh side. Evenly brush prepared soy sauce marinade over the eel surface.
Cook for 3–4 minutes, flipping back and forth to prevent the marinade from burning. Cut into bite-sized pieces with scissors.
Briefly sauté the julienned ginger using residual heat in the pan for added aroma, then finish plating with perilla leaves.
