Steamed blue crab is perfect for enjoying spicy and refreshing flavors on days when you don’t have much appetite!
Use a brush to thoroughly clean every corner of the crab, then remove the belly shell and cut it into quarters. To remove fishy odors, sprinkle ginger juice and cooking wine on it.
Place the prepared bean sprouts on the bottom of a pot, set the crab pieces on top, cover with a lid, and steam over medium heat for about 7 minutes to control moisture.
When the crab shells turn red and are cooked, add the seasoning mixture made with chili powder, minced garlic, and dark soy sauce, and mix evenly.
Add water dropwort, green onion, and spicy green chili pepper, and stir-fry over high heat for 1 minute until the vegetables are slightly wilted to maintain their crisp texture.
Mix starch powder and water at a 1:1 ratio. Gradually add the starch mixture to thicken the dish to your desired consistency, then turn off the heat to finish.
