Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water.
Steam the soaked rice.
After steaming, let the rice cool, then mix it with nuruk (fermentation starter) to make godubap (steamed rice).
In a large bowl, combine meju powder, chili powder, rice syrup, salt, and the cooled godubap. Mix thoroughly.
Transfer the mixture to a jar and let it ferment at room temperature for 2-3 days.
Once the gochujang is ready, store it in the refrigerator.
