Cut the dried figs into small pieces.
Cut cold butter into small cubes.
In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Add the butter and mix by hand until it has a crumbly texture.
Add the cream cheese and figs, and gently combine.
Pour in the milk and egg, and mix until the dough comes together.
Flatten the dough, divide into three parts, stack and roll again (repeat 2–3 times).
Flatten the dough thickly and cut into triangles.
Place on a baking tray and brush the surface with egg wash or milk.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20–25 minutes until done.
